The payment cycle generally ranges from 30 to 60 days. A JAS (Job Assignment Sheet) confirmed in the current month will be paid next month.

At the beginning of each month, ECI’s financial staff will generate payment order information, including the payment order number, JAS details, payment information, and invoice files according to the agreed payment method.

After successfully generating a payment order, ECI will notify you by email, and you can log in to the Partner Portal through the link in the email to view your payment order details.

You can also log in to the Partner Portal and click on the Payment Orders heading to go to the payment orders page. There, select a payment order number to view the details of your last 12 payment orders. The latest payment order is displayed by default.

For freelancers outside China, we support payment by bank transfer and PayPal. For Chinese freelancers, ECI only supports bank transfer.

For Chinese freelancers, the minimum payment amount is 100 RMB.

For freelancers outside China, a minimum of 500 USD/EUR is required for bank transfer. Payments of lesser value are made through PayPal.

Due to the compliance requirements of ECI financial payments, Chinese freelancers paid in RMB need to invoice their received payments each month.

As a natural person, you can issue VAT invoices (ECI will fulfill the withholding and payment obligations). At the same time, ECI encourages regular translators to register as self-employed or companies to issue invoices.

If you cannot currently issue invoices, ECI will make payments through a third-party platform.

Yes. At the beginning of each month, the freelancer’s Partner Portal will automatically generate a payment order that confirms the amount of JASs completed in the previous month. They can issue an invoice based on the information in the payment order.

You can contact your resource manager or send an email to the email address on the payment agreement. Please note that you must re-sign the payment agreement if you change your bank account information.

Freelancers only need to pay service fees when withdrawing funds from their accounts.

After receiving a project, you must submit the project within the delivery date agreed with the project manager. Under special circumstances, if you need to delay delivery or cancel the task, you must contact the project manager and negotiate a new deadline so that the projects can be delivered before the customer’s due date.

Different projects have different translation tool requirements.

The translation tools we most commonly use are Trados and MemoQ.

At the same time, ECI has its own proprietary online translation platform, where you can complete some projects online.

ECI provides clients with various localization services, including translation, interpretation, audio translation, and DTP.

If you can provide other services, please contact us at any time and we will add you to our resource pool.

If you are not interested in a project provided by the project manager, you can simply decline it.

At the same time, please tell the resource manager about your preferences so we can enter them in our system.

Freelancers can directly search for projects currently recruiting on our website or register with us and provide their information. Then, our resource managers will contact you as needed.

To ensure easy use of the Partner Portal, we recommend that you use the following browsers: the latest Firefox version, the latest Chrome version, IE11, or Microsoft Edge.

After you are registered in our system, our resource manager will send you your Partner Portal account and login password. With that, you can access the Partner Portal login page at https://partner.eciol.com.

Click “Forgot password information” at the lower-right corner of the login box, and enter your email address registered with ECI and your Partner Portal login name. The system will verify the information you provided and send the password to your registered email.

On the Basic Information page, click the edit icon, and select “Edit Basic Information”. Then, select the “Competence & Availability” tab, where you can set the days of the week you work and whether you work on holidays. Your changes will take effect after you click “Save”.

If you are unable to accept tasks for a time due to personal reasons, you can set dates you will be unavailable. On the Basic Information page, you can click to set or cancel the dates when you are unavailable on the calendar for the current month and next month.

Please keep your profile up to date. You can add your relevant project experience and details in the Partner Portal.

Project teams will decide whether to send you projects based on your area of expertise, experience, language pair, and rates.
